My name is Matteo.
I’m a sustainability and energy geek at heart, and I’ve spent the last 15 years helping large organisations turning climate ambition into practical, measurable progress.
I’ve worked across retail, technology, finance and fintech, supporting some of the UK’s most recognisable brands on their journey to Net Zero and I have seen how organisations that embed sustainability in their strategy don't just do better for the planet, they do better business full stop.
Along the way I've learned a few things, one is that the most important skill in sustainability is knowing how to bring people with you.

Working With the Best
Leading Tide's end-to-end net zero strategy, from Scope 1–3, to reporting and carbon removal sourcing and developing the Members' Net Zero product proposition.
Led the Group's operational climate strategy and supply chain sustainability across 2,000 buildings, 60,000 colleagues and £4bn+ in supplier spend.
Built Vodafone UK's energy management strategy across all data centres and 15,000+ network towers, securing £3.8m CAPEX and defining the 2025 carbon reduction roadmap.
Full accountability for £200m of group energy and utility management, delivering £5m+ in savings and integrating the Argos acquisition across 800 new sites.

Maintaining the rigour of Planet Mark's sustainability certification standard against current ESG best practice.
Shaping the strategic direction and conference agenda of one of the UK's leading energy and sustainability events.
Giving back to a long-standing professional community, shaping strategy and direction for a leading network of energy and sustainability end-users.
Assessing professionals pursuing accreditation in sustainable real estate on behalf of one of the world's leading sustainability institutions.
Volunteering
Hosting regular community sustainability meetups in Coventry, fostering grassroots conversations and first steps towards sustainable living.
Mentoring early-stage climate and nature tech startups, applying corporate sustainability expertise to help founders scale their impact.
Running climate change workshops for Year 5 and 6 students, making sustainability accessible and actionable for the next generation.

This WebApp helps you visualising a 3D model of a certain quantity of carbon emissions, compared to the size of a tree, bus and some iconic buildings.
A simple conversion tool calculator that helps turning carbon emissions into things you can picture. Code is also available if anyone wants to expand it.
A visual tool to help engaging the business in the spiderweb of ESG disclosures and regulation, it still a WIP and happy to share the code if someone wants to play with it!
